Selected and exhibited: Biennial of Latin American Typography - Tipos Latinos
Petrona forms part of Google’s Web Fonts collection. It’s intended for gastronomic publishing use, to be applied in texts, but also in titles, ingredients, and recipes. This design challenged how many characteristics are possible to add to a font, without changing its text-type genre. Its features include serifs which suggest certain cooking style gestures and single-spaced numbers of uniform height, specific for recipes ingredients descriptions. Developed by Ringo R. Seeber with the mentorship of Eduardo Tunni.

DRAGON. Type Design.
DRAGON Type Design
Dragon Font. A type with an old feel, yet not outdated… timeless, as a dragon. To be applied in headlines and short texts for fantasy art publications, where the page needs its own texture and magical style. With Arrighi's “Operina” as an inspiration, but working as a contemporary type face (not calligraphic but as a font) all of the history of typography helped as references. The result is the merge of styles: “roman” typefaces proportions, with details of "blackletter" and "uncial.” Dragon Font seeks for the harmony in the whole system (the paragraphs) rather than focus on each letter as an individual design. So, it counts with particular tension points and broken stems, for the sake of the proposed texture on the page. Developed by Ringo R. Seeber with the mentorship of Hannes Famira and Just van Rossum.
OUROBOROS. Type Design.
OUROBOROS Type Design
A typeface inspired by both the past, the present… And again the past, the present… Ouroboros is a font for display, headlines, and short texts. A classical style with a modern twist, intended to provide a raw and intense look with a touch of elegance. A revival of upper case sources, adding the development of lower case, plus italics and alternates. The upper case glyphs have been based on handwritten scripts from the 9th & 10th centuries, Caroline Capitals and English Capitals. Lower case glyphs have been based on Humanist handwritten scripts from the 16th century (they had a similar problem when they wanted to “marry” upper and lower case). Finally, the new system has been adapted for nowadays uses and tools, but again referring to the sources, to add alternates and details. The original reference was a “display” handwriting that allowed to take decisions letter by letter, so, several tweaks and modifications were needed to make it work as a font, with solutions for spacing and ligatures. Optical size adjustment for a big x-height was imperative, because of the serifs on Ouroboros that forced to have big counter forms to compensate the large letter spacing generated by them. Axis: Arrighi's work (as an example of Humanist sources) presents an angled axis, something re-considered when matching with the mostly vertical axis on the Caroline and English Capitals. Developed by Ringo R. Seeber with the mentorship of Sumner Stone.
